Event #1: YDCCSC
Saturday 30th May:12.00 – 14.30
The first event of this year’s Northern Roll Series. There is a choice of two courses – the full 1.6km circuit, or the 750m loop from the bridge downwards for those who wish to cut out the hill. The aim is to ski as far as you can in an hour, so it’s a great opportunity for those with less roller ski experience to put into practice what you have learnt – and you can dip in and out of the hour as you wish.
Entry Fee £10 adults and £5 anyone in full-time education.

About Northern Roll Event
The annual Northern Roll Roller Ski Challenge Series comprises four fun and sociable challenge events run by the four Snowsport England affiliated cross-country ski clubs in the North of England.
Each event is hosted at a different closed cycle circuit and is designed to be inclusive to encourage more roller skiers to challenge themselves. They follow the same format – a challenge to roller ski as many laps as you can in one hour. You don’t have to do all four events, just come along to one if you can. And of course your chances of rising up the rankings increase with each challenge you enter. These fun events are ideal for training, or for skiers simply wanting to set themselves a challenge against the clock.
Each event will have four categories: Open Senior; Female Senior; Open Junior and Female Junior.
There will be a prize for the series winner in each category, plus an overall team prize – both to encourage more participants from each club to travel to different events.
Those taking part will need to be either:
- A registered member of Snowsport England – with blue-level membership or above;
- A member of a Snowsport Scotland or Snowsport Cymru affiliated club, or the British Nordic Development Squad. For members in this category, they will need to register in advance of the event on the Snowsport England membership system (Sport 80) as a non-member.
