While many of our club members are enjoying a well deserved club holiday to Norway, work on our club website continues. Please bear with us if your favourite page is temporarily unavailable, we will get it back up and running as soon as possible. In the meantime, keep skiing!
We have members who have just returned from their on-snow ski trips and some are still enjoying somewhere cold and snowy. This meant that although it was a quiet morning on the track, the roller skiers who did attend were very busy! One coach led a lesson in skate-2 timing whilst another ran a beginner … Continue reading Quiet but productive session at York Sports Village
We have been having some lovely weather for our Sunday morning rollerski sessions at York Sports Village cycle track. Lots of obstacles and drills to keep us all on our toes! Have a look at our video which is of course sped up 🙂
Today 3 of us got together over lunch to work on a new glossy leaflet to promote the club. Club members enjoyed a guided tour by Martin Appleby who volunteers each week at the reserve. Thanks to his and his fellow colleagues commitment to the development of the area over the past year, Rodley has been voted the best nature reserve of the year by BBC Countryfile Magazine. We had a fabulous day so … Continue reading Rodley Nature Reserve
The Beast from the East gave us a rare opportunity to practise our skiing here in the UK! Trips were made to Dalby Forest and some members even skied around their own neighbourhoods. There was enough snow to practise drills for the 2 hour session at Temple Newsam in Leeds using club skis.
10 of our members enjoyed an amazing week with masses of snow! We stayed at the Venabu Fjellstu Hotel, 8 in the main building and 2 in one of the 8 cabins. Some of us were lucky enough to see a hawk owl, chop our own wood for the cabin log burner, and go on … Continue reading Club holiday 2018
